Pleasures of Past Times perfectly describes our stock. Be prepared to find an eclectic mix of treasures from bygone eras.

Established in Notting Hill in 1965, the shop opened in Cecil Court in 1967 making it amongst the oldest businesses in the court. The shop reflects our Theatreland location, specialising in books and ephemera relating to the performing arts and popular culture. The walls are covered with original theatre, film and music posters, while shelves creak with an electic selction of books, ephemera and unusual items dating as far back to the early 19th Century.

Material relating to theatre institutions such as Henry Irving, Noel Coward and Olivier vie for shelf space with Music Hall favourites such Dan Leno, Little Tich alongside material relating everyhting from The Sex Pistols, William Burroughs, David Bowie & Divine.  With pop culture icons such as The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Dr Who and 007 recently hitting 50th anniversaries, our stock is slowly catching up with our 50 year history! Also expect to find Magic & conjuring books, Victorian & Edwardian postcards, sheet music and all manner of curiosities.

Pleasures of Past Times has is now joined by Intoxica Records, another business originating in Notting Hill.

Intoxica has been trading in rare & unusual vinyl records since 1993, initially in Portobello Road and now here in Cecil Court. We still boast Central London’s only perfectly formed selection of records from the 20th Century: Beat, Psychedelia, R&B, Soul, Jazz, Soundtracks, Punk & New Wave, and anything bonkers inbetween, specialising in the musical history of the local area. Original pressings & reissues - vinyl only- Buy-Sell & Trade - All the records you're unlikely to find in London
